Merging scenarios provides flexibility when performing analysis by allowing you to copy data from one or more existing scenarios into a new or existing scenario.
You can use this to:
- Actualizing your forecast by merging your actuals data into your forecast
- Update the data in your finalized planning and budget scenarios

Note: Merging scenarios with data over one year may take some time. Cube will email you when the scenario is ready to use.
Merge Scenarios
1. Navigate to Dimensions or Scenario page in the Workspace.
2. Hover over the highlighted icon, then select Scenario Merge.
3. From the Destination Scenario dropdown, select an existing Scenario to merge data into or create a new Scenario by clicking Create New Scenario.
Note: A destination cannot be write-protected, write-blocked, a formula, tag, or parent dimension member.
4. From the Source Scenario, you will select the Scenario from which you want to copy data. Select any Scenario that is not a formula, tag, or a parent dimension member.
In the example image below, parent dimension members are gray and cannot be selected, but they can be expanded so you can select a child dimension member below it.
5. Select a Date Range for the Source Scenario.
You can select a Time dimension member or choose a custom range to pick a specific start and end date:
Click Add another date range to add any additional date ranges you need.
When merging scenarios with large amounts of data, help the merge process faster by breaking the time period into quarters or multiple scenario merges.
6. (Optional) Select any additional Source Scenarios by clicking Add another source
7. Click the Save button to process the merge.
Overwrite warning message
8. If there is already data in the Destination Source, you will be prompted with a warning message. Click the Overwrite data button to start the Merge or click the Cancel button to return to the configuration screen.
Email notification when the merge is complete
9. You will receive an email notification after Cube completes the merge process and your updated scenario is ready to use.
