How it works
Multi-currency by Account enables Cube to apply exchange rates to transactions received in foreign currencies from QBO and Xero on an account-by-account basis.
When enabled, whenever a foreign currency transaction is sent to Cube, Cube will convert it into the base currency by referencing the relevant exchange rate selected by the customer (OXR or custom).
Cube applies Open Exchange Rates (OXR) to all accounts by default unless there is an account-specific override. The OXR rate is a ‘current’ rate. It’s the most up-to-date data OXR has for a given day.
Import custom exchange rates
Rate files can be uploaded directly into Cube monthly on an account-by-account and time-period-by-time-period basis to add historical, average, fixed, and/or custom rates. You can generate your own file or use a file exported from Cube as a starting point.
If your Cube has custom time dimensions, the dates in the file must match the end dates of your custom time dimensions.
From your Cube Portal, under Export Conversion Rates select Export:
This will generate a rate file with the current mappings and set rates. Use the exported rate file to overwrite existing rates and then reupload the file under Import Conversion Rates:
Clicking Upload will open the guided experience to Upload your conversion rates:
This process will confirm the mapping for each column in your file and validate all of the entries against the data type our system expects. After all rows are validated, click Upload to submit your conversion rate file to Cube.
When the rate conversion process is complete, you will receive an email confirming that the rates were successfully uploaded to Cube. Wait to perform any fetches referencing the new rates until you receive this email.
After rates are uploaded and assigned, transactions sent to Cube in a foreign value will be converted to Cube values using the exchange rates shown.
New rate files must be added monthly. If not, Cube will default to current OXR rates.
View Exchange Rates
To view conversion rates currently in use, navigate to Currencies then Exchange Rates, then click Edit Rates.
Use the year tabs to see the rates assigned based on your Cube base currency and foreign currencies added.
