Invite team members with pre-determined levels of access and capability.
We are currently rolling out an updated version of this feature. If you don't see User Management in your Cube navigation, please follow these directions to use the prior experience.
Invite a new user
You can add users to Cube by inviting them and assigning them the right access. When you invite a user, you’ll choose their user type (what they can do in Cube) and their data access group (what they can see and edit).
- From User Management, click Invite User.
- Enter one or more email addresses, separated by commas or semicolons.
- Assign one or more user types and data access groups to each invited user. User types control which features they can access, while data access groups define what data they can view or edit. If a user has multiple roles, Cube applies the highest level of permission from each group.
- Confirm your selections and click Send Invite. Each invited user will receive an email to join Cube.
Users stay in “Pending” status until they accept their invitation. You can resend the invite by clicking the Resend Invitation icon if needed.
Add Team Members (alternative)
1. From the side navigation in your Workspace, select Team.
2. Select +New in the top right-hand corner of the page.
3. Input the Email Address of the new team member and select their Permission Group
- Admin - Admins are considered Cube "owners." Admin users have access to all capabilities in Cube and can add new users to any permission group and manage all other users' permissions.
- Finance - Finance users are considered "contributors" and have access to all capabilities in Cube other than adding new admins or changing existing admin privileges.
- Business - Business users are considered "viewers"; they can fetch (i.e., read) data in the App in Excel or Google Sheets but cannot import data or change any account mappings. If given permission (see below), Business users can also publish (i.e., write) data.
See a list of permissions for each permission group here.
4. Select whether to allow this team member to modify financial data in Cube
5. Uncheck any Dimensions below that the team member should not be able to read and write values from. The team member will still be able to see the entire list of dimension names.
Keep in mind that as dimension members are added, this team member will have access to them if they already have access to the parent dimension.
6. Select to email the new team member with the invitation. Your teammate will receive an email invitation that is active for seven days.
