Set up your Salesforce connection. Align the Salesforce data with your Cube data. Import updates as frequently as you want. Then use the data from opportunities to inform your budget and forecasts.
Add the Salesforce Connection
- On the Source Data page, select the Other Sources tab.
- Click +New, then select Salesforce.
- Enter the Salesforce username and password that will be associated with the API data request and click Log In.
Set Up the Data Import and Map it to Cube
- On the Source Data page, select the Other Sources tab.
- Identify the new Salesforce connection and, under the View menu, click Settings.
- Name your Salesforce Query. This will encompass the Salesforce query and any mappings to Cube data.
- Add a SOQL Query into the query box for Run SOQL Query. This is the Salesforce-specific request that will pull the right data from your instance of Salesforce.
Open the Standard Query link to access a sample query or link out to the Salesforce Trailhead to learn how to create a query with your specific needs. Alternatively, your Salesforce administrator may be able to help build a custom query to pull the data you need. - Preview data from the query for a quick check of data that will be pulled, or Run query to start to map it.
- Use the Select destination drop-downs in the Map data section to link the Salesforce field headers to Cube Top-Level Dimensions or as a Value or Attribute.
In order to import, Cube must have one Value and one Time dimension mapped to Salesforce field headers. - If a Top-Level Dimension is mapped, then map the Salesforce content (these are values within the Salesforce columns) to Cube dimensions. This ensures the Salesforce values are mapped to the right Cube values in the cases there may be a variance between the two systems.

Import Salesforce data
Import Data will only be available once one Value and one Time dimension has been mapped.
- On the Source Data page, select the Other Sources tab.
- Select Import Data to open the import drawer.
- Select a time frame for your data import by adding a start date and end date.
- Add default dimensions for any unmapped values.
- Click Import Data.
- You will receive an email notification once the import is complete, letting you know whether the import was successful or failed. If it failed, the email will identify any errors.
Remap Salesforce data
- On the Source Data page, select the Other Sources tab.
- Identify the new Salesforce connection and, under the View menu, click Settings.
- Modify the query to add or remove data points.
If the Salesforce columns related to Top Level Dimensions, Value, or Attributes are removed from the query, their mappings will be removed once you Run Query. - Run Query to refresh the Map data section with the updated query results.
- Use the drop-downs in the Map data section to link the Salesforce field headers to Cube Top-Level Dimensions or as a Value or Attribute.
In order to import, Cube must have one Value and one Time dimension mapped to Salesforce field headers - If a Top-Level Dimension is mapped, then map the Salesforce content (values within the Salesforce columns) to Cube dimensions. This ensures the Salesforce values are mapped to the right Cube values in the cases there may be a variance between the two systems.
