Formulas take the hard work out of updating multiple spreadsheets! Formulas are dimensions in Cube whose value is calculated based on other Cube dimensions.
Example: Gross Profit can be added as a formula in Cube by subtracting Cost of Goods Sold from Revenue.
Adding a New Formula
- Go to your Cube Portal
- Select 'Formulas' on the left-hand side, in the navigation bar
- Click the '+ New' button in the top right-hand corner
- Within the Add Formula drawer:
- Formula Dimension Name - Create a unique name for your formula
- Parent - Select a parent from the dropdown menu provided
- Formula - Enter a formula Help Article: Common Formulas
- Apply To - Select a Scenario to apply the formula to
- Rollup Logic - Select one of the two options provided Help Article: Rollup Logic
- Click the 'Save Formula' button
Disabling a Formula
At this time, in order to completely remove a Formula from your Dashboard, you will need to contact Support. However, you do have the ability to remove a formula from a dimension by following these steps:
- Go to your Cube Portal
- Select 'Dimensions' on the left-hand side, in the navigation bar
- Click on the Dimension that has the formula you'd like removed
- Click on 'Formulas' within the Edit Account Dimension drawer
- Remove the formula
- Click on the 'Save Dimension' button
