Check your spreadsheet for unrecognized dimension members before fetching data using Validate in the Spreadsheet App to avoid errors and save time.
For example, in the spreadsheet below, the header, Revenue, is misspelled as “Rvenue,” resulting in an error "unrecognized dimension" that prevents us from pulling the relevant data because the header can't be identified.
Validate will quickly spot and fix errors like this one to ensure data accuracy and a successful fetch by following these steps:
- A range must be set first in order to use Validate. Learn how to build a range.
- Under Analyze, click Validate.
- Any unrecognized dimensions will populate as a list.
- To edit the dimension, click the pencil icon to search and select the correct dimension.
- Click the ignore icon to ignore a dimension (it isn't a dimension member in Cube).

If the validate feature is not available (grayed out), please be sure that both "Allow Fetching Data" and "Allow Publishing Data" are enabled for this range.
