Analyze your data at a granular level using Drilldown to get a detailed view of the transactions and splits that make up a value. A drilldown is saved as a range, so you can return to it, change what it covers, and fetch current data without drilling again.
How to Drilldown on a value
1. Open the Cube Spreadsheet App.
2. Select the cell you'd like to drill into.
3. Select Drilldown under Analyze.
To suppress zeros, toggle on Exclude zero rows from results.
Cube opens a new tab in your spreadsheet with the relevant transactions and saves the drilldown as a range. The range appears in the range selector, where you can select it, change its filters, and fetch data again.
Return to a saved drilldown
Every drilldown is saved as a range in your workbook.
- Open the range selector in the Spreadsheet App.
- Select the drilldown range you want.
- Review the filters on the Build card. A drilldown range has filters only, with no rows or columns.
- Select Fetch Data to pull current transaction data into the sheet.
To change what the drilldown covers, edit the filter values on the card and select Fetch Data again.
Rename or delete a drilldown range the same way you would any other range. Deleting a drilldown range removes it from the ranges Cube recognizes. It does not delete the sheet or the values already in its cells.
Want to drill in further?
Cube data can be exported in CSV format with the same structure as a drilldown. This is very helpful for importing into various BI tools for further data analysis.
