Cube allows you to upload flat files of data to a data table as often as you need to. You can use flat file uploads to get data into Cube from regular general ledger or payroll system exports, headcount data, recent budgets, or any other data your team needs to use.
Data tables house the structure needed for Cube to accept and process the information in your flat file, and our system walks you through the verification process so all data is appropriately ingested.
If you only have a small amount of data to upload, you can also manually enter data into the data table.
Preparations
Before you can upload your data, you'll need to:
1. Prepare your CSV or TXT file
2. Create a data table in Cube (this may have been done for you by the Cube team)
With these steps complete, you are ready to upload your data to Cube!
Upload your data
You can use the video or the steps below to guide you through uploading data to your data table.
1. Navigate to the Source Data page in your Web portal.
2. Locate the data table in your list and click upload.
3. Optionally, add a message for the audit trail.
4. Next, you can upload a file or enter data manually.
5. Selecting a file will ask you to review and confirm mapping for each field and provide a preview of the data for each field.
6. Cube will populate the data table with the uploaded data and verify that the cells contain what Cube expects. You can make changes directly in the data table if anything is invalid or disregard them; Cube won't upload invalid rows.
Also, you can use the filters to locate specific errors or add and remove rows right from here using the Actions dropdown.
When all changes are made, click Upload to complete. You'll receive an email when your data has finished uploading to Cube.
