Having trouble downloading the Sheets add-on? Here are the steps that will help you resolve it!
When encountering add-on download issues in Sheets, you may get a message that states “App is not allowed for install by admin” as shown below.
In order to gain access to the Sheets add-on, you can follow these short steps below:
Please Note: Only administrators can grant access in the following steps.
Step 2: Hide or show Google Workspace Marketplace apps to your users.
- From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps.
- On the Google Workspace Marketplace Apps card, click Settings.
- Under Manage access to apps, select an option:
- Allow users to install any application from Google Workspace Marketplace—Allows users to install these apps.
- Block users from installing any app from Google Workspace Marketplace—Blocks users from installing these apps. In the Marketplace, the Approved for you section highlights to users that their organization approved no apps.
- Allow users to install only allowed applications from Google Workspace Marketplace—Users can only install apps from your allow list. In the Marketplace, the Approved for you section highlights to users the apps that are allowed. Note: If you choose to allow apps, learn how to add apps to the allow list below.
- Click Save.
Note: Changes can take up to 24 hours to propagate to all users.
Step 2: Add apps to the allow list.
- From the Admin console Home page, go to Apps.
- Click the Google Workspace Marketplace apps >Apps List.
- Click Google Workspace Marketplace allowlist.
- At the top, click Add app to allowlist >search for the app.
- Point to the app>click Add to allowlist.
Step 3: Download the Sheets add-on.
- After completing the steps above, navigate to this link to download the add-on again.
