Troubleshoot Excel Add-On Login Issues

Occasionally, Cube will make updates to our Excel add-on. When this happens, Desktop Excel usually automatically updates to the latest version. However, some users have certain IT restrictions that prevent automatic updates for Excel Add-ons. Luckily, it’s a very easy fix to uninstall and reinstall.

Update to the Latest Cube Add-On Version

• For Windows 
• For Mac

On Windows

1. Remove/Uninstall Cube from your Add-ins.

   1. Click Insert > Add Ins > My Add Ins.

   2. Hover over the Cube Add On and click the three-dot menu that appears in the upper right.

   3. Choose “Remove”.

3. Re-install Cube.

   1. Click the “Office Store” button that appears and search “Cube.”

   2. Click “Add” next to the Cube Add On and “Continue” in the dialog that appears.

On Mac

1. Remove/Uninstall Cube from your Add-ins.

   1. Click Insert > My Add Ins

   2. Hover over Cube and click the three-dot menu in the upper-right-hand corner.

   3. Click “Remove” and confirm by clicking “Remove” in the dialog that appears.

3. Re-install Cube.

   1. Click the “Microsoft AppSource” button that appears. Search for “Cube.”

   2. Install the Add-On by clicking “Get it now” and confirming through the dialog that appears.

   3. Click the big “Open in Excel” button that appears.

      1. You may see a warning about a file extension mismatch. Click OK.

      2. You may also need to click “Trust this Add In” in the right-hand Add On panel within Excel.

Note: Supported versions of Excel are the Consumer versions of Excel 2016 and beyond and O365.  The Commercial versions of Excel are not supported.
