Wondering why the value you recently published is different when fetching it? - Here's might be the reason behind it.
Let's take a look at an example
You recently published to the cross-section: "Department - Other/Location - Other/Account A/Budget/Jan-21" and entered $5.00 for value. However, when fetching the range again, the value comes back as doubled, showing $10.00.
As your next step, you navigate to the Data Exporter to verify the value in Cube and notice that there are two entries for the same cross-section: "Department - Other/Location - Other/Account A/Budget/Jan-21" for $5.00 each, as shown below.
Why did my publish doubled?
The multiple entries in the Data Exporter are due to duplicates in the range published. Indeed, if you have the same cross-section (dimensions) in more than one row in your range, when publishing, Cube will record all the values separately, creating two or more entries depending on the number of duplicates.
Similarly, if you have duplicate columns, the same logic applies.
As a result, if you notice more than one entry in your Data Exporter and it was not intended, or the values you published are not fetching correctly, please verify that your range does not include duplicate rows or columns.
You can resolve this issue by simply removing the duplicate row or column from your range and re-publishing it. The action of re-publishing to this cross-section will overwrite the previous publish made.
