Allow Cube Staff temporary access to your environment for support, onboarding, or consultation and feedback.
We are currently rolling out an updated version of this feature. If you don't see User Management in your Cube navigation, please follow these directions to use the prior experience.
New experience for providing support access
Cube Staff access is logged and can be enabled or revoked at any time by a Cube user with user management permissions. When enabled, staff are assigned the Admin user type and Full Access to data by default to efficiently complete your support request, but these groups can be customized if necessary.
Open an access window
When submitting a support request, you can open the access window so the team can investigate as quickly as possible. This allows any Cube Staff person on our support team to join your Cube while the access window is open.
- Go to the Cube Staff tab of the User Management page.
- In the Access Window section, select the time frame the access window should be open from the dropdown.
- Click Grant Access. You’ll see the date and time the access window will close, and an option to close it earlier.
- Monitor access using the table of Cube Staff users below. Cube Staff users can be managed similarly to other Cube users:
Cube Staff who join your Cube through the access window will automatically have their access expire when the window closes, and you can close the access window at any time.
Invite an individual Cube Staff member
If you are working with a Cube Staff member and want to invite them to your Cube, you add them as an individual user rather than opening an access window. This is similar to inviting another user to join Cube, but you won’t need to set permissions. However, you can adjust them after the user is invited.
- From the User Management page, click Invite User.
- Enter the Cube Staff member’s email address.
- Cube will recognize that this email address belongs to one of our staff members and let you skip adding permissions.
- Click Send Invite. The Cube Staff member will receive an invitation email to join your Cube.
Users invited to your Cube will not have an expiration date associated with their access. You can manually revoke their access if necessary.
Existing UI experience for adding Cube Staff members
To grant access to Cube Staff, select Team from the Settings section on your right-hand navigation bar in your Web portal.
Next, click the Cube Staff Access tab, and set how long you'd like to grant Cube access, then press Grant Access:
This will enable the Cube team to access your Cube to aid in troubleshooting, providing support to your account, or helping answer questions about your Cube Setup.
Based on how long you gave Cube Staff Access, you'll see the date and time on which access expires:
Once access is granted, a Cube Staffer member will be notified to begin support on your account. As soon as they do, their name will be logged along with their activity.
You can manage, review, and revoke Cube Staff Access at any time from this page.
