If you recently added a new account to your source system or added data to a previously ignored dimension, it will need to be mapped to your Cube dimension. Resyncing the connection will check for changes to your dimensions and automatically run mapping rules set for this connection or notify you of dimensions that need to be mapped before importing.
If you've changed an account in your source system, it won't impact Cube, but you can always edit the Dimension name in Cube.
New accounts or dimensions
New accounts created in your source system will need to be mapped to Cube or may be automatically mapped according to your mapping rules if you are using scheduled imports. Follow the steps below to ensure data from your new accounts is correctly flowing to Cube.
Manual imports
Step 1: Resync your connection
- Navigate to the Source Data page.
- Click on the Import Data icon for the connection you desire to import.
- Click on Resync in the yellow banner.
- Wait for the resync to complete.
If mapping rules have been set for this connection, they will run during the sync to map any new source dimensions. Learn more about setting mapping rules.
Step 2: Map new accounts
- When the resync is complete, Cube will tell you if any dimensions need to be mapped. If there are, click on Map to go to the mapping page.
- Use the filter or click on the number at the top of the page to see the dimensions that need to be mapped.
- Set a mapping rule, manually map dimensions, or bulk upload mapping to map the new dimensions. Learn more about how to map dimensions.
Scheduled imports
If a new dimension is found when importing data to Cube during a scheduled import, it will be mapped automatically according to the mapping rules. If no mapping rules are set, the scheduled import will fail, and unmapped dimensions will need to be mapped before the import can run again.
Follow these steps to check where dimensions are mapped to or remap them.
Renamed accounts or dimensions
Renaming an account in your source data won't affect your Cube. You can either leave the name as it is in Cube or change it to match the one in the source data by editing the dimension.
How to Edit the Dimension
- Navigate to the Dimensions page.
- Click on the dimension or the edit icon to the right
- Modify the name
