Schedule regular data imports from your source systems to consistently keep your source systems' data fresh. During each scheduled import, Cube automatically identifies new dimensions and maps them based on your settings.
To schedule your imports, head to your Source Data page.
Next to your source system, click on the clock icon to open the scheduler.
- Select the time range to refresh from the drop-down or create a custom range by selecting your time dimensions. We recommend choosing the current year so Cube will update transactions as scheduled imports run throughout this year.
- Set the cadence
- Frequency can be daily or weekly on a specific day
- Time of day (by default in EDT, in hour intervals)
Note: If your source system connection utilizes an Atom, schedule the import for when the computer that hosts that Atom is online. If the Atom is offline, the scheduled import won't be able to run.
- Frequency can be daily or weekly on a specific day
- Select a scenario to import your data. Only scenarios with actuals write protection will be available. Learn more about write protection.
- Set Default Dimensions for each top-level dimension. For example, [Dimension] - Other.
Note: Any new dimensions found will be mapped to this corresponding top-level dimension default. After each completed import, you'll receive an email informing you of any newly discovered dimensions mapped to this default.
- Click Save to schedule your imports and repeat each source dimension you’d like to automate schedule imports for.
You’ll receive an email notification every time your scheduled import runs, notifying you of the new dimensions mapped. You can remap these dimensions anytime.
